Stormwater Retention System Contributes to Net Zero Water Usage
The Artesian of Ojai’s Stormwater Retention System is just one of the ways the project intends to achieve net zero water usage. Via a series of drains and underground pipes, rain water is captured and directed to a series of percolating chambers. These chambers which are buried under the main driveway, allow for more controlled infiltration into the ground while replenishing the surrounding soil and aquifer.
Manufactured by Cultec, this high capacity, open bottom chambers provide greater storage and much higher infiltrative capability than conventional pipe and stone systems while freeing up land for other purposes, in our case, for parking areas.
